I'm impressed, this would've been peak performance 1918 at the western front in France or in an alternate history post-WW1 setting.
The only historically accurate addition I could think of would be two add 2 German Reichswehr provision bags ("Hafersack") as tactical hand grenade pouches for the "potato masher" like the "Sturmbataillon" assault soldiers used to carry (wikipedia image link).

I wasn’t big into history growing up but I recently got into Battlefield 1 and thought that looked like something I would see in that game.

Until you get wibechecked by 30-06. Nevertheless, that is a insanely cool look.

A buddy of mine that works at ANR Design (pretty big kydex holster maker if you're not aware), made two of these holsters last year, one for himself and another for Mike at Garand Thumb. I've been badgering him for a year to make me one and he finally did, albeit a wrong-handed version.
It's absolutely not practical at all; it may even be ridiculous, but it's mine and I'm loving it. Because this is a real and decently high condition Red 9, I will not be actually using it with this particular Mauser because of the propensity of kydek to be quite hard on finishes. Once I find a beater/shooter, it'll make its home here and I might even attempt to do some drills with it. It's clearly more for the meme though.
Btw, he hates making these. It was a struggle over more than a year's span to get him to finally give in and make another. This is the third and last C96 holster from ANR.

I’ve wanted a red 9 since I was a kid, how much did she run you if you don’t mind me asking

I really lucked out and snagged it for just $2k a couple years back.

With it being “wrong handed”, you could set it up for cross draw. I don’t know how accurate that would be to what the Germans did, but it wasn’t until recent, relatively that is, that we have found cross drawing to be a less practical way of drawing your sidearm. So you can still have some accuracy with your LARP.

All this proves is that OPs LARP is way more historically accurate with having his holster be wrong handed instead of right handed. Thank your fried OP.

The only things that sucks is that the stalnhelm would not be viable for modern combat
Everything looks tastefully put together

I've been sitting on some WW1 painted helmet styled nylon fabric for a while. We may be able to make something here.

Depending on how big the pattern is, a pistol belt or mag pouches would look sick.

The camo pattern on that holster is on point. Love me some Battlefield 1. It’s the best battlefield imo

This set up is amazing, Great work on that camo for the holster as well!

30 seconds after discovering mud and angry people with bayonets, Hans attempted to reload his pistol. It was at that moment he realized...he fucked up.
