Were you trying to kick water off the deck with your feet? Haha a squeegee might work better

86

u/404-skill_not_found Jun 09 '23

Likely unaware that a floor squeegee even exists. They’re not often encountered in the wild (as it were).

22

u/LokiDesigns Jun 09 '23

Love a good floor squeegee for shop cleanup day.

11

u/ImurderREALITY Jun 09 '23

Now that’s satisfying

How come we never see good old squeegee work on /r/oddlysatisfying? Squeegees need love too

2

u/WinterHound42 Jun 09 '23

My boss would make me let someone else do the floor squeegeeing because I was the first to grab it all the time for this reason. I would occasionally put more water than necessary for reasons.

"It's just to get the floor cleaner :)"

2

u/ImurderREALITY Jun 09 '23

I used to do driveway and parking lot sealing, which was like squeegeeing mixed with painting

So satisfying

2

u/Hot_Hat_1225 Jun 09 '23

Bet she squeaked when she hit the floor though 🤔

6

u/wohsedisbob Jun 09 '23

Or a broom. Thats what I use to move the water outta the garage when it rains hard

4

u/MidWesttess Jun 09 '23

A broom would do the trick much better than her feet lol

2

u/AwkwardInspector128 Jun 09 '23

If the concrete had a broom finish instead of a power trowel finish, she would not fall down.

2

u/crank1000 Jun 10 '23

I wish I had enough free time that kicking water off of an empty patio was a priority.

2

u/Porkchopp33 Jun 09 '23

“I love my new patio” “f*ck take it down now!”

158

u/tek33 Jun 09 '23

Why are you trying to get water off of an outdoor patio?

78

u/infinite_zeroes Jun 09 '23

Because its damaged/not built right, so the water flows to the middle, instead of the sides.

11

u/yocatdogman Jun 09 '23

Lol I was starting laying pavers for a square patio. Started it and had a friend see what I was doing.

Helped me out because I was gonna do it wrong. I wanted it flat you know, told me you want it raised in the center just a by a inch or two. No pooling or anything 3 years later.

40

u/This_Dependent_7084 Jun 09 '23

Yep. A majority of concrete crews don’t give a flying fuck. I had to baby sit the crew that did my pool decking because they take to cut every corner possible. It took a call to their management to get them to do basic shit like tamp down fresh soil, put stand offs under the rebar, etc. pitiful.

11

u/TangerineGullible665 Jun 09 '23

It’s sad that we now have better technology for this type of thing but people refuse to do it properly making the updated methods redundant. Then they get shitty if you watch them to make sure the job you’re paying them for is done right.

7

u/WorkingInAColdMind Jun 09 '23

When they poured our driveway, which goes down a steep hill, then flattened out to a garage on one side and parking pad on the other, we wanted them to make it run away from the garage and the guys were totally stumped. One of our carpenters came and showed them. Not sure why he wasn’t hired and put in charge cause he did great. We could see it was going to be a disaster otherwise but had no clue how to actually do it right.

Can you repeat this again please, I didn't understand the first 2 times

46

u/Fragrant_190 Jun 09 '23

Now drag her around by her feet and the deck will be substantially more dry soon!

70

u/[deleted] Jun 09 '23

the recovery is too funny. "fine, I meant to sit here anyway and use my hands!"

14

u/Effect-Kitchen Jun 09 '23

Copium is intense here.

34

u/11hortong Jun 09 '23

So I've been in the construction industry for years now (specifically surveying) and I still have no idea why people insist on installing incredibly smooth tiles as outdoor flooring in areas that get a fair bit of rain. Shockingly smooth tiles are slippery when wet.

9

u/shakygator Jun 09 '23

I think it's stamped concrete. I hear that gets very slick as well.

2

u/[deleted] Jun 09 '23

isn't there a non slippery sealant for this? Growing up in PR it was common for ppl to fall for like this but, some would put something to avoid slips.

7

u/ScienceyWorkMan Jun 09 '23

Currently in the process of building a patio in my backyard.

Yes, there are additives that you can add to (almost any?) Concrete/stone Sealants.

They're little glass beads or granules of something that will blend into the sealant and not be seen, but will give it a more grippy texture.

5

u/[deleted] Jun 09 '23

awesome thank you for the response. If I recall correctly it felt like dried paint scruffy looking.

2

u/AwkwardInspector128 Jun 09 '23

Yes, it’s called a light broom finish and is just like it sounds. The concrete is finished with a broom to create a nonslip surface. This is the only finish for wet areas. A smooth finish will put you on your ass.

1

u/mhx64 Jul 02 '23

Using a broom as a finish makes it less slippery

What am I wrong about?

7

u/involmasturb Jun 09 '23

OOOOOAAAARRRRGGGHH

14

u/igby1 Jun 09 '23

Tailbone injuries are misery

22

u/TheUglyCasanova Jun 09 '23

Is she trippin?

By that, I mean is she on a hallucinogen? Seems weird to take a spill like that then go back to.. patting the water away..

5

u/CuteCanary Jun 09 '23

Not tripping but likely a bruised ego. I could where their spouse/friend is probably roasting them from inside and this is their ‘I meant to do this’ response

3

u/SpectacularRedditor Jun 09 '23

If you meant the other type of trippin I'd be inclined to agree.

3

u/cottonmouthVII Jun 09 '23

My first thought was drunk.

6

u/semiTnuP Jun 09 '23

She had no CONCRETE idea what she was doing!

3

u/Harpronicus Jun 09 '23

And that's why you don't stamp the entire slab of concrete

3

u/[deleted] Jun 09 '23

What the hell is she trying to do anyway?

u/justafax Jun 09 '23

🤣🤣🤣 “did ya slip again?” I’m guessing she’s pretty consistent when it comes to fallin on her ass. Lol

2

u/Spazza42 Jun 09 '23

Sounds like the wrong hole again

2

u/bagleface Jun 09 '23

Then starts wiping it with her hand like nothing happened

2

u/davmoha Jun 10 '23

Have you or a loved one been injured in a slip in fall incident due to homeowners negligence? If so, call now...

2

u/Zestyclose_Ad2013 Jun 10 '23

W...what are you doing?

2

u/Old_Homework8339 Jun 12 '23

10/10 safe landing. She knows HOW to fall. That's rare

2

u/Head_Significance601 Jun 15 '23

I love that she still continues to whist laying and sitting down

4

u/CryptographerLow6772 Jun 09 '23

I think it’s funny that people keep putting video of themselves out there on the internet being completely stupid.

2

u/rhyzoid Jun 10 '23

Was that a guy or a girl?

2

u/UnderstandingLow3162 Jun 09 '23

I felt that impact in my gonads

2

u/yMONSTERMUNCHy Jun 09 '23

Go to a swimming pool store and purchase a long handle squeegee thing. Common sense is uncommon.

1

u/far565 Jun 09 '23

Rip back

1

u/Man_in_the_uk Jun 09 '23

Ouch I felt that.

1

u/wasternexplorer Jun 09 '23

I typically bust out the battery powered leaf blower to push water off of surfaces. I have no idea what she's trying to accomplish and even why she's doing it in the first place.

1

u/HoneyInBlackCoffee Jun 09 '23

The fuck is she trying to do? Kick an invisible football?

0

u/tu4ntr4n Jun 09 '23

what a moron

1

u/Vossenoren Jun 09 '23

Nice stamp job on that concrete

1

u/Large_Key_9684 Jun 09 '23

The most smoothest fastest slide I ever been on was a polished concrete slide at a modern style playground

1

u/Ragnarotico Jun 09 '23

Has this woman ever heard of a mop?

1

u/briemacdigital Jun 09 '23

it’s called a broom or squeegee.

1

u/pamanley Jun 09 '23

Just kept pushing that water off by hand. Like this is what I meant to do.

1

u/drcontreras Jun 09 '23

What is she on? Seriously, what is it?

1

u/OceanWalker_0063 Jun 09 '23

The way she was going concrete was always going to win

1

u/OceanWalker_0063 Jun 09 '23

The way she was going concrete was always going to win

1

u/MindlessStretch5737 Jun 09 '23

I'm just glad she didn't hit her head

1

u/Hot_Hat_1225 Jun 09 '23

Her continuing her job on the ground reminded me of my little one when she started walking tests but kept falling and just decided to continue closer to the ground 🤣

1

u/taptapper Jun 12 '23

OK. What the hell was she doing?

1

u/Hot_Hat_1225 Jun 12 '23

Basically she decided that all this tripping wasn’t worth it and continued to crawl for a while longer - until one day she just got up and walked without a wobble 🤣

1

u/DC92T Jun 09 '23

I like the cat casually watching from the lower left hand corner.

1

u/Galvanisare Jun 10 '23

Someone needs to add the John Cena audio to this.

1

u/Dynamus81 Jun 10 '23

Now that's some quality cheek clappin'!

1

u/endofanera83 Jun 10 '23

Reminds me of a time when my dog tripped near his water bowl and he tried to play it off my going to take some drinks.

1

u/Terrakinetic Jun 10 '23

Could have gone worse

1

u/zuulbe Jun 10 '23

Falling on concrete is fucking scary. i broke my wrist on wet concrete slipping on my bike while going 3mph

1

u/KarlFatkowski Jun 12 '23

The important thing is she kept her goals in mind even after falling.

1

u/-Hulk-Hoagie- Jun 14 '23

What the hell was she trying to do?

1

u/DM68v2 Jun 15 '23

Don't put the blame on you. Blame it on the rain. 🎵 🎶 (Milli Vanilli)

1

u/hisprerogative Jun 17 '23

Get a floor squeegee. They’re so fun.

1

u/NightmaresFade Jun 17 '23

She got lucky she didn't hit her head nor seemed to break her tailbone or something.

She got very lucky.

1

u/woodguard Jul 07 '23

OMG, She lost her shoes.
