Dude had access to some of the best intelligence in 2020; if there’s one thing he should know is when there is a run on TP, no one is safe.

56

u/ttaptt Jun 10 '23

The Great TP Shortage of 2020 was one of the weirdest things about all of that. Two anecdotes:

1)During that time I needed my first colonoscopy ever. 50 years old, I was on Medicare bc of pandemic, you bet I was going to get anything I could. Any of you that have had one knows the actual procedure is nothing, they knock you out and you wake up one second later and it's done. BUT the lead up 36 hours or so is really something. You drink this stuff that absolutely empties you right the FUCK out. Valid, seems right. But all I had was this shitty 3 month into TGTPS of 2020 that was closer to sandpaper than shit tickets. When they were putting me under, I slurred something like, "All I had was this shitty covid..." and I think I passed out right then, lol. I didn't get to say "toilet paper". Hopefully I did, I don't know.

2) During that same time I noticed the tube in the shitty TP rolls was (almost) imperceptibly bigger. Just a couple millimeters. Motherfuckers out here screwing us out of like 15 shit tickets to make that dollar. Fuckers.

7

u/truckstop_sushi Jun 10 '23

they cancelled colonoscopies during the toilet paper panic portion of the pandemic

7

u/Jewmangi Jun 10 '23

Oh, every doctor and hospital system for every patient?

5

u/Beanakin Jun 10 '23

I think it's wonderful that a common medication used for the prep for that is called golytely.

326

u/beltjones Jun 10 '23

Look beyond that, though. That isn’t a rich man’s bathroom. The property brothers could throw that together in a three day weekend for $5k. A billionaire with a basic ass shower rod? I know it’s not his personal bathroom, but it’s hot garbage.

Affordable chandeliers exist. This is a weird bathroom. It’s as if somebody went for ‘it must look expensive, but should be affordable’ and then just gave up. You are a 100% right with the shower rod, a slightly more affordable rod and a decent shower curtain would have made a better impression than a chandelier.

I mean reallllly look at that photo. Some of the United States most sensitive defense secrets, sitting next to a toilet. Un-fucking-guarded and obstructed by Trump the entire time. It’s absolute insanity.

Quite a fall from grace.

*seeing a lot of “what about Biden’s garage cache?” I’m not going to defend him there. But there’s no comparison about how this all went down. Biden had 30 documents. Pence had xx amount. Both of them turned them over immediately, cooperated with the fbi and welcomed a full investigation. Trump immediately started obstructing, lying, hiding hundreds of unsecured documents for over a year. Then he attacked the FBI and judges and investigators.. by name. And he continued to lie saying they were declassified… or that it’s a witch hunt. Trump thinks he’s above the law. Biden and Pence responsibly cooperated. Reasonable to believe they unknowingly had classified docs (mixed in with thousands of other docs). Irresponsible mistake vs Trumps willful deceit. Big difference.

Fun little icing on the cake here: https://www.salon.com/2022/08/11/signed-law-making-mishandling-of-classified-info-a-felony--now-it-may-come-back-to-haunt-him_partner/

Trump made it abundantly clear that A) he knew it was illegal to have them, and B) It was absolutely no accident that he had them. He intended to keep them even after he was called out.

14

u/loulan Jun 10 '23

How do we know he hasn't? All he had to do was to scan them, put them on a tiny USB drive, and hide the drive somewhere?

31

u/Boubonic91 Jun 10 '23

We're talking about a man that had boxes full of documents piled up in his resort bathroom, among other places. He probably doesn't even know what a USB flash drive is.

6

u/swiss_worker Jun 10 '23

11

u/JohnWoosDoveGuy Jun 10 '23

Or so they don't have to let "undesirables" in. It's a free license to be bigoted in any which way you choose (on top of the exclusion through not being ADA compliant).

(Not saying this is why someone might not have a public restroom, or that someone without a public restroom is necessarily doing that, but it's definitely a thing. My old boss would let certain people use our non-public restroom, and whether he realized it or not, his personal list of approved customers was pretty "homogenous" if you catch my drift)

72

u/SadMap7915 Jun 10 '23

Let me tell you, folks, nobody, and I mean nobody, has a bathroom like mine. It's tremendous, just tremendous. You won't believe it. People come in, and they say, "Donald, this is the most incredible bathroom I've ever seen." And you know what? They're right!

First, my bathroom is filled with the best reading material, okay? We're talking about top-secret items, things I took from the White House. Nobody else has access to this stuff, believe me. I've got classified documents, reports, and intelligence briefings. It's like having my own personal Situation Room right there in my bathroom.

Now, I'm a very stable genius, so when I sit on that golden toilet, I like to stay informed. I grab those classified documents, and let me tell you, the information in there is unbelievable. It's so secret that even the deep state doesn't know about it. I'm reading about things that nobody else has a clue about. It's like I'm solving the mysteries of the universe while taking care of business.

And let me tell you, my friends, the things I've learned from those top-secret papers, it's incredible. I've discovered things that nobody else could have figured out. I've uncovered the truth, the real truth. The truth that the fake news won't report. And I'm doing it while sitting in the most luxurious bathroom, surrounded by gold, the best gold you've ever seen.

So, when I say my bathroom has the best reading material, I mean it. It's exclusive, it's classified, and it's the real deal. Nobody has a bathroom like mine. It's the best, folks, believe me. You won't find anything like it anywhere else. It's tremendous!

For everyone taking about ‘what about Biden’ please remember this -

Biden having classified documents doesn’t make Trump innocent. You’re not upset at all that Trump did this shit. You’re upset he’s getting charged. You don’t care about the implications of Trump’s actions. You are just upset that your guy is fucked.

13

u/quinnby1995 Jun 10 '23

Not to mention he gave them back immediately when asked.

Given the INSANE amt of information these guys need to see in order to make informed decisions, I kind of expect some boxes of stuff to still be scattered after administration changes.

The issue isn't even that he had the documents, if he just gave them all back when asked like a normal person, this wouldn't be happening, they're not charging him because he accidentally forgot to give back some documents, they're charging him because he knowingly tried to steal them, and not just steal them, but show them off to people who didn't have clearance...and admitting it...on tape.

Those entire arguments just prove people read what they want to read and nothing else.

Really, what reasons did trump have to do this? The only thing I can think of is to share this info with people who were not supposed to see it.

u/kembik Jun 10 '23

Former Trump adviser Jared Kushner and former Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin received billions of dollars from the Saudis after leaving their White House jobs, according to a new report. https://www.mediaite.com/print/jared-kushner-and-steven-mnuchin-have-reportedly-secured-billions-from-saudi-government/

Classified information can be extremely valuable.

You could hit a jackpot with the right information.

12

u/neoplastic_pleonasm Jun 10 '23

Everyone keeps saying it was to sell, which is totally plausible, but the indictment makes it sound like he did it because he enjoyed showing them off. He's literally on tape showing classified war plans (against "Country A", possibly Iran) to some authors and saying "Isn't that interesting?"

He totally could have been selling them, but somehow it makes me feel worse that he might have done it just to seem cool.

u/Time-Earth8125 Jun 10 '23

I think it was during a Hannity interview where Trump said that Nixon got paid 18million dollars for stuff he took after resigning.

It seems like Trump's motive was pretty clear here

6

u/tpx187 Jun 10 '23

The crazy shit is, if Trump decided to run on a pro vaccination platform and not crazy loon shit, he probably would have won reelection and been selling this shit as the president. And there would be nothing anyone could do.

Fuckin lock his ass up.

I can't believe so many people are okay with this. And if you're going to compare this to what Biden had, you're delusional. It's one thing to have things that are classified which are very mild in their sensitivity compared to the top secret stuff that Trump had... The difference also is that Trump just loaded up boxes and took it knowing full well that he didn't declassify it.

He was caught with the evidence.

He admitted to what he did.

Now he's trying to make the argument that he can do whatever he wants to do and his lawyers in sycophants are saying that we can't be holding president's accountable for the crimes they commit because.... Why exactly?

This guy is just not amusing anymore. He's in way over his head and he seems to be very afraid of Vladimir Putin and tries to make himself look Strong by antagonizing North korea, china, and Iran because he thinks it makes him look big.

He's a 2x impeached, convicted sex offender and now he is facing 10 years or more in jail for treason and other crimes.

They would call for execution if Obama or Clinton had done this. Clearly he saw dollar signs in those documents, it is absolutely espionage, what a traitor.

14

u/Nubras Jun 10 '23

Here’s the “fun” part: they are still calling for the execution of those people. Today. While their guy does this.
