There's a site called Forgotify that plays all the songs on spotify that have never been listened to. Whatever song you play, you're the first person listening it on the platform. Video

I feel bad skipping through songs there knowing it means no one else will hear them.

Well there was a pretty good chance nobody was ever going to hear them.

I feel like I would listen to my own song at least once

Most of what I have found on it is old stuff that probably wasn't uploaded by the artists themselves but by their label.

How tho? Don’t artists listen to their songs once its uploaded to Spotify.

A lot of the stuff I've found so far on it is old classical stuff or older funk and rock. Artists are probably dead already and the tracks have been uploaded by the label.

This has to be wrong, otherwise I experiencing the "Mandela effect". I'm sure I've heard the first song that came. My guess is that it is forgotten songs, not songs that never have been played.

Tried it. Doesn't work. Had a piano song from 2004 with another from the same album with 6k. Another one had 17k plays.
They might only gather "legit" plays cuz I know spotify has a huge bot issue

Wait, so songs only play on forgotify one time…ever?
Because like that’s how it works, right ?

Went to the website and my first song was a medical flute jig, not bad. Second song was some depressed teenager crooning and cooming, that’s enough for today.

It’s probably songs with very low plays. I can’t imagine it’s 0 plays and the website still exists.

Makes me wonder what requirements spotify have to their songs
