There's a site called Forgotify that plays all the songs on spotify that have never been listened to. Whatever song you play, you're the first person listening it on the platform. Video

Makes me wonder what requirements spotify have to their songs

all u need is a distributing company which u can get for as low as 10$ a year and you can post almost anything excluding copyright, and release it under every platform to exist.

✍️✍️✍️. Any other tips? What about recording and producing the tracks for cheap?

don’t listen to the saying bandlab, get a cracked version of fl studio (in minecraft ofc on 4download) and get a blue snowball, when recording breathe with your stomach and kinda smile with your cheeks when recording, u can find auto tune pro on g-meh for free as well, everything else u need is fl studio stock plugins, figure out the rest yourself, it’s best to learn on your own so you don’t become another basic clone, good luck!

I genuinely thought this was setting up to be a joke, but those are all legitimate pointers.

u/betaforever Jun 09 '23

What's the theory behind kinda smile with your cheeks when recording? I saw Dua Lipa doing the same thing.

u/m1stuh_ Jun 09 '23

opens up yours ears more so you can hear yourself i think not 100% sure tho

Get an SM58 microphone it’s the cheapest, high quality mic available imo and you can get free YouTube instrumentals.

u/Ok_Fish_7232 Jun 09 '23

You can find free music production software out there. Apple has "Garage Band".

3

u/CircaSixty8 Jun 10 '23

GarageBand requires a Mac device unfortunately.

1

u/Ok_Fish_7232 Jun 10 '23

Yup, that's what I said. I was just using it as an example.

1

u/DefKnightSol Jun 10 '23

Ya and it worked just fine and they wont let it work on older devices 🤬

Indian musicians: Hum first . Hum first

u/mqduck Jun 09 '23

I feel bad skipping through songs there knowing it means no one else will hear them.

44

u/BlackLetterLies Jun 09 '23

Well there was a pretty good chance nobody was ever going to hear them.

35

u/Ashamed-Constant-534 Jun 09 '23

I feel like I would listen to my own song at least once

11

u/Ayen_C Jun 09 '23

Maybe it doesn't count artist plays?

6

u/ThereIsATheory Jun 09 '23

Most of what I have found on it is old stuff that probably wasn't uploaded by the artists themselves but by their label.

u/Koyomi_Ararararagi Jun 09 '23

Tf, this is neither weird nor creepy.

27

u/Prascoooooo Jun 09 '23

How tho? Don’t artists listen to their songs once its uploaded to Spotify.

25

u/ThereIsATheory Jun 09 '23

A lot of the stuff I've found so far on it is old classical stuff or older funk and rock. Artists are probably dead already and the tracks have been uploaded by the label.

That accent to forgetify

9

u/KamiNoRaion_ Jun 09 '23

His accent is funny

8

u/Korach Jun 09 '23

Sounds Israeli to me.

6

u/Calamity4M Jun 09 '23

I got this... Tickle Toes - A Toe Tickler by The Skirtlifters - on the album “A Ragtime Episode”

5

u/gultch2019 Jun 09 '23

He says its creepy but he's the one who sounds like Dracula...

3

u/GatoDerp Jun 09 '23

It's nice, it's different, it's unusual, it's noice.

3

u/madamesoybean Jun 09 '23

Many of them are just "not available" hence not being listened to.

5

u/The_Weight_of_My_Sac Jun 09 '23

Okay but why did you fuck over Shiv?

2

u/UrDirtyAzzMother Jun 09 '23

Get in da choppa

1

u/sleepy_potatoe_ Jun 09 '23

It’s not a Toomer aghhhaghhh.

2

u/zuel1988 Jun 09 '23

And I the only one that spent the last 40 mins listening to clips of music ?

0

u/ElBeno77 Jun 09 '23

Does that mean that you listening to it delists it on this site?

u/Garros_ Jun 09 '23

The girls response is the most American reply ever 🤣

1

u/ladyKfaery Jun 09 '23

That’s sad.

1

u/Spritemystic Jun 09 '23

I wonder how many of them are songs by Fyllis.

1

u/WeskerChild Jun 09 '23

I think imma have to side with latter opinion.

1

u/Nestore-the-Shaker Jun 09 '23

This has to be wrong, otherwise I experiencing the "Mandela effect". I'm sure I've heard the first song that came. My guess is that it is forgotten songs, not songs that never have been played.

1

u/Hi_My_Name_Is_CJ Jun 09 '23

I wonder if the tracks are so bad you wish you forgotified them

1

u/Mckasz Jun 09 '23

Tried it. Doesn't work. Had a piano song from 2004 with another from the same album with 6k. Another one had 17k plays.

They might only gather "legit" plays cuz I know spotify has a huge bot issue

1

u/Moloch90 Jun 09 '23

Where is he from?

1

u/0bjective_Butter Jun 09 '23

Wait, so songs only play on forgotify one time…ever?

Because like that’s how it works, right ?

1

u/ItsFuckingScience Jun 09 '23

It’s kinda like the Spotify equivalent of r/deepintoYouTube

1

u/DriveFoST Jun 09 '23

Went to the website and my first song was a medical flute jig, not bad. Second song was some depressed teenager crooning and cooming, that’s enough for today.

1

u/TurboD16F20 Jun 09 '23

Between these two, I bet they own more records than Jay-Z

1

u/rivchamp Jun 10 '23

Why does that make me kinda sad

1

u/Ayvi_Lau Jun 10 '23

I actually found a song I liked, very nice

1

u/aZamaryk Jun 10 '23

The first song I listened to was actually pretty good.

1

u/Paradoxdoxoxx Jun 10 '23

It’s probably songs with very low plays. I can’t imagine it’s 0 plays and the website still exists.

I’m heading there now to fix this injustice !!

1

u/[deleted] Jun 10 '23

Thanks y'all. I just found fart metal & I'm addicted.

1

u/Orangezest5 Jun 10 '23

This clip feels like one of those tiktok fake podcasts

1

u/consistently_sloppy Jun 10 '23

How is that the “creepiest”?

1

u/petroljellydonut Aug 07 '23

Just listened to some… there’s a reason they never got any fans just saying.

1

u/treflorez Aug 11 '23

On Spotify though
