Today's Compromise

Hi everyone. This subreddit got an unexpected wave of attention from those who are fans and those who find this subreddit's content to be offensive.

I'm going to level with you. I created this subreddit during /r/FPH's last few weeks (not exactly sure on the timeline) to be a spin-off of a particular type of content which was popular on that subreddit without using obesity as criteria for all submissions. I'm a fan of encouraging free speech, whether or not I personally agree with the subject at hand. I have my opinion, and you have yours. I respect your entitlement to have one, so I believe subreddits like this one should stick around - even if I myself don't personally enjoy it any longer.

So to make sure you all have a place for this content, here is what I've done:

Moderators have several things we can select in a subreddit's settings to alter where its community stands with the rest of reddit, so I've ticked the box that disables /r/ChoosingBeggars' ability from appearing in /r/all. This is so that this community can exist without bugging those who disagree with the content allowed here. If I'm honest, I do disagree with reddit's administrators in some areas, but I respect them for letting this subreddit stick around. I wouldn't feel right with myself if an admin was showing investors or advertisers how great this platform is, and they come across what can be controversial subject matter at the tippy top (or wherever) of the front page. I've also ticked the box that flags it as an NSFW subreddit, just so there's an extra barrier for people discovering this subreddit to turn away if they accidentally clicked on a link to here. Just a note, this means all posts will be auto-tagged as NSFW.

I have also removed today's big post, because it violates reddit's rules on personal information.

How you can do your part to keep this subreddit around:

  • Don't link to other subreddits.

  • Blur out identifying info (Age, Name(s), Location, etc)

  • Be nice to other users.

  • If you ever notice brigading, message the moderators and one of us will make the subreddit private for awhile.

Just a side note, I actually discovered this (a blessing!) via r/all. On relay for reddit if it matters

u/haragoshi Aug 12 '16

What is relay for Reddit?

u/thedistrbdone Aug 12 '16

It's one of the mobile apps for Reddit

u/[deleted] Dec 30 '16

You broke the first rule

u/[deleted] Jul 14 '16

FPH followed the rules too and it still got banned. I hope that doesn't happen to this subreddit. The amount of sensitive liberals and candyasses on this site are through the roof.

That's actually false, just a rumour that people started to get more people against FPH. There was never any doxxing whatsoever.

The only thing that was the last straw for Reddit was for making fun of the Imgur staff using one picture.

Choosing beggars sounds like the beggars are being chosen, which they probably ain't, all that frequently. Choosy beggars makes more sense, to my ear at least

u/faded_jester Jul 13 '16

I wonder who complained.....could it be...fat girls, feminists, cunts, cunty fat feminists, sjws, or just easily offended women who believe no one should be allowed to make fun of women because that's "sexism!". Of course it doesn't apply to men, that's just silly.

If it keeps this sub alive, so be it, but it's just a matter of time before weak willed pussies bow down to feminist logic and sjw screams of misogyny and "hate speech".

u/[deleted] Jul 14 '16

...There are reddit rules. People didn't even follow the basic rule of blur info.

u/[deleted] Sep 10 '16

You really hate women. That's incredibly unattractive.

u/SquidsStoleMyFace Oct 27 '16

Lmao no kidding.

Apparently being a decent human being makes one a cunty SJW now.

u/stridernfs Dec 11 '16

If you think that all women are cunts then you are the one who hates women.

u/baref00tmama Dec 29 '16

I don't think he's very well acquainted with actual women.

u/[deleted] Jul 13 '16

What about easily offended men?

u/faded_jester Jul 13 '16

I file them under "cunts". They are the lowest of the low imho. Generally though it's women who pretend they are outraged and demand something be done.

u/[deleted] Nov 04 '16

thats an oxymoron

u/haragoshi Aug 12 '16

But muh decades of oppression...

u/imnotagayboy Aug 13 '16

All of the above

u/haragoshi Aug 12 '16

Nice work creating this subreddit. i wish it was more active, but it's nice to see a "Safe space" where people can be as un-politically correct as they want so long as nobody's personal information is compromised.

u/thedrunkmrlahey Jul 14 '16

I discovered this funny sub on r/all. Just in time.

u/Lemon_kisses Oct 23 '16

Found this sub from r/trashy and I couldn't be happier right now. Made my whole day.

u/BlueSignRedLight Jul 18 '16

Oops. You're welcome I guess?

u/blueXcat Jul 25 '16

Is this why I can't access on bacon reader ? Always say the sub is empty ?

u/Tnargkiller Jul 31 '16

What is bacon reader?

u/blueXcat Jul 31 '16

It's an app to reddit. Because the official one is bad

But yeah, I had to turn on NSFW display

u/Dunkcity239 Aug 27 '16

The official one is terrible. I can't find alien blue in the App Store anymore
